Swayambhunath Temple: – Swayambhunath Temple is the oldest temple of the Nepal and also known as the monkey Temple. This temple is so beautiful and filled with amazing power and great architecture and declared as the A UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Its name tells about their meaning like Swayambhunath means “Self Created”. According to Swayambhu Purana, the complete valley was once filled with a huge lake, out of which grew up a lotus. So “Self Created” word came out of this story and after some time local people of Nepal joint the word stupa.
There are great religious monuments surrounded by the Swayambhunath Temple. A few structures were extinguished by the earthquake and revamping from few years and give pleasant and delightful look for the pilgrims and travelers. When you are around to Swayambhu way that time you can also experience the monkeys and small shrine and will enjoy the eye- catching view of the Kathmandu from the top. The stupa was completely renovated in May 2010, its first renovation in 90 years and the fifteenth in almost 1500 years since it was built. The dome was made golden using 20 kilograms of gold.

There are five copper gilded shrines that represent the different elements such as Vasupura – earth, Vayupura – air, Nagpura – water, Agnipura – fire, and Shantipura – sky. Each symbol also represents a different aspect of Buddhism.
Swayambhu is a large complex, full of monkeys and steps. Inside there are many corners to explore.
Peaceful Pond at Swayambhunath: – You can also find some peace from the pond which situated behind the Swayambhunath. People come here for finding the piece of soul. They sit at the Pond for a long time and spend their time. Here, you can throw the coin in the pond and make a wish to complete your dream, whatever they are spiritual or others.
Hariti (Ajima) Temple is most beautiful and populate temple in the Kathmandu. Hariti is the goddess of smallpox. Swayambhu Buddhist Museum: – Swayambhu Buddhist Museum is a small museum. In this museum there is a single room and contained the collection of the Buddha statues and ornaments. Shakyamuni Buddha: – Besides the Hariti Temple you can also visit the Shakyamuni Buddha. It’s a black stone Buddha statue create the charming look of Buddha and engraved from one single portion of stone in the 7th century.
Shantipur: – visit the Shantipuralso when you are in the Swaymbhunath Temple because it’s also the part of Swaymbhunath Temple. Get the opportunity to see a large, colorful Buddha statue sitting opposite. Shantipur holds one of Nepal’s most grand and impressive stories.
